In May 2012, we launched Global Food Forums®, Inc. with an abundance of entrepreneurial energy….and a dash of apprehension.
Our vision was to develop of family of in-person, product development conferences for the food, beverage and nutritional products market. Each event would be tied to a significant long term consumer and industry trend in which applied food science would need to play a vital role. The technical programs would be designed to provide R&D and food scientists with practical and impartial formulation advice, along with key consumer trend insights, emerging ingredient technologies and regulatory updates.
At the very beginning, we forged a Global Food Forums® belief system: Our “core customer” is the food scientist. All of our decisions are driven by how our actions impact the R&D attendee community. In turn, by delivering a high quality, sought after event drawing an unusually high ratio of R&D attendees, the interests of the supplier community are also best served.
• We believe applied and useful food science is the keystone of our business. All of our events focus on providing the food scientist community with practical and impartial insights & data.
• Providing value and respect to all of Global Food Forums’ speaker, attendee, supplier and contractor partners is the only path for a sustainable and growing organization
• We believe in the power of in-person exchanges. We know that in a world dominated by digital communications, the key to true human innovation and collaboration happens when people meet face-to-face.
“There’s a temptation in our networked age to think that ideas can be developed by email and iChat. That’s crazy. Creativity comes from spontaneous meetings, from random discussions. You run into someone, you ask what they’re doing, you say ‘wow,’ and soon you’re cooking up all sorts of ideas.”
–Apple, Inc.’s Steve Jobs
Four years later, our little start-up now includes three successful conferences (Clean Label Conference, Protein Trends & Technologies Seminar, Weight Management Technologies Conference and we are embarking on our fourth event Sweetener Systems Trends & Technologies Conference). To date these events have attracted over 1,400 attendees (from VP/Directors of R&D to bench-level food scientists).
Our Global Food Forums website has been viewed over 330,000 times and now averages over 1,000 views per day. The site includes a primary Store as well as stores on each individual archived event site where over 100 free technical document can be downloaded as well as an increasing number of Special Reports.
We hope that you’ll decide to attend one of our product development events. When you do, please stop by and say “Hi!” In the meantime, we invite you to investigate all of our product development offerings.
